Donald Espinoza
Dear Family and Friends,
Donald, most loved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on August 3rd at Mercy Hospital in Redding, CA after an eight-year battle against lymphoma. He never quit fighting it!
Donald fought valiantly in Washington at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance while undergoing two stem cell transplants from March to mid-July. Please feel free to donate to this organization. Checks can be mailed to:

California State Greco-Roman Results & Update
The Redding Amateur Wrestling Club (RAWC) went to the California State Championship for Olympic Greco-Roman in Fresno (Selland Arena) Saturday April 29th & 30th. Several wrestlers from our club went, we had an excellent showing with three state placers. In the Bantam Division: Xavier Jordan placing 3rd at the 60 lbs. Amanda Britt taking 1st at 152 lbs in the Cadet Women Division. Joseph Holcomb a junior at Shasta High wrestled FILA Men's Open at 135 lbs and placed 5th. Next week Members of our team with other area teams from Oregon, Eureka and Sacramento will be at Shasta High for the Northern Area Wrestling Championships on May 7th at Shasta High School.
Foothill Tournament - April 23rd Update
The Fifth local trournament was in Palo Cedro - Four Mats - Short Drive - another success, Good job Danny,
this comming weekend we will be at Selland Arena in Fresno for Greco State.

Gridley Tournament - April 16th Update
The Fourth local trournament was in Gridley - Five Mats - Good Facility - another success, Excellent job Jared,
this comming weekend we will be visiting Foothill High School in Palo Cedro.

Joseph Holcomb caught the only Snipe on the Snipe hunt as witnessed by Cort Armstrong. All campers received Junior Ranger Patches for great behavior and clean-up of Camp Facilities.

Chico Tournament - April 9th Update
Third local trournament in Chico was another success, Good job Keith,
his weekend we will be visiting Gridley High School; Note: Not Yuba!

Waterfall Week - Whiskeytown Lake
Remember the Coach's challenge to take your parents to the local parks for camping; this comming week is Waterfall Week at Whiskeytown; I still have five patches for the kids who take parents camping from Ranger Clinton Kane at Whiskeytown. Orland Tournament - April 2, 2011 Update
Second local tournament in Orland went as expected, another excellent tournament, Great job Victor Perry, the Northstate was introduced to "Grappling" with several matches; I will get the tournament photographs up as soon as time is available. Late Sign-ups
Very Late Sign-ups, simply show up at one of our Tuesday or Thursday night practices and look for the nice woman with the signup sheets (her name is Jackie) or Coach Jet; Bring a copy of birth certificate & $80.00 Dollars. :) The cost for wrestling this year is $80, and includes a USA Wrestling card (insurance), club fees, and $25 dollars of raffle tickets. When you sell the raffle tickets, you keep the money. If you sell them all, your cost for wrestling is $55. That's a superb bargain when compared to other organized sports programs. You can also keep all the tickets if you're feeling lucky.

Our practice nights are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Wrestlers between the ages of 5 and 12 start at 6pm, and the older kids start at 7pm. Both age groups will practice for approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. We practice in the Shasta High School wrestling room behind the main gym.
